Mrs. Caroline Browning, one of the pioneer residents of this community, died at the family homestead, two miles south of Noel, on Thursday August 12, in her seventy-seventh year; born March 14, 1849. She had been a sufferer from paralysis for a long time. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church in Noel by Rev. Williams, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial in the old Noel graveyard near Pineville. She had been a member of the Methodist church over 50 years. She is survived by five children, Arthur Browning, Bert Browning, Robert Prater, Mrs. Sallie McQuitty, Mrs. Laura Caldwell.
