Harvey Lawson was born September 29, 1858, died August 28, 1930 at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 29 days. He was united in holy matrimony with Lois Laughlin in 1877 and to this union nine children were born, three of them departed this life at an early age, leaving six: five sons, Hayden and Hubern of Ramona, Oklahoma, Earl, Cecil and Wyatt of Washburn and one daughter, Mrs. Janie Stephens of Hiwasse, Arkansas to mourn his departure. He also leaves 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. His wife, Lois, departed this life September 4, 1914. He was loved by all and will be missed by all.
Mr. Lawson was born in Arkansas where he lived until 1872 when he moved to Missouri with his parents. In 1889 he bought a home on Big Sugar Creek near Mountain where he reared his family. He was a loving father and kind grandfather and will be greatly missed. He confessed his faith in Christ and united with the Baptist Church. He had been suffering from heart trouble for some time and had been seriously ill only a short time. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Baker and the body laid to rest in the Roller Cemetery.
