Johnny W. Stephens (twin), 83 years old, Washburn, Missouri, Route 1, died at 12:22 a.m. Thursday at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born to Rev. Nathan Stephens and Janie Lawson Stephens on July 23, 1898, near Washburn, Missouri and was a lifelong resident of the Washburn-Exeter area. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church near Exeter.
He married Faytema Cargile September 29, 1921 at Bentonville, Arkansas. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Ralph Stephens, Washburn, Route 1, five brothers, Harve Stephens, Hiawassee, Arkansas, Frank Stephens, California; Carlin Stephens, Anderson, Missouri, Lewis Stephens, Wheaton, Missouri, and Edward Stephens, Idaho and two grandsons.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Williamson Chapel, Cassville with Rev. Junior Mattingly officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery at Exeter.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
